The Challenge
A 24-hour telecare alarm service for elderly clients routed SOS alerts through a four-hop chain — pendant to SMS to relay to webhook — with no monitoring at any stage. Nothing confirmed that an alert had been delivered or that a device was still online, and one going offline left a client without cover.
Four hops with no confirmation at any.
Offline pendants going unnoticed until needed.
Client detail assembled while the clock ran.
No reliable log of who responded.
Approach & Solution
smartData built a purpose-built operations dashboard on ASP.NET with containerised deployment, connecting pendants directly through a vendor-agnostic adapter layer and eliminating the four-hop relay entirely. Alerts now reach caregivers in under five seconds from the device trigger, updating live on screen without any page reload or manual refresh.
Every alert surfaces the client's name, age, address, medical conditions and emergency contacts in one detail view, so an operator never leaves the alert to find out who it concerns. Fleet monitoring covers battery, connectivity, last check-in and firmware per device with automated threshold alerts.

Final Outcome
Alerts reach caregivers in seconds over a monitored connection rather than an unverified relay, a pendant going offline surfaces immediately instead of being discovered when it matters, and every response leaves a record.
